IAQ Consulting have been involved in the consulting of healthy energy efficient buildings in Australia for the past 14 years. Initially we concentrated primarily in the HVAC industry, providing healthy indoor air quality (for instance - Our designs included utilising 100% fresh air). 10 years ago, we added lighting to our range of services, as both lighting and air conditioning account for the majority of energy consumption in the normal operation of a building. It is within these two areas that the greatest energy savings can be realised.

Our services include:
• HVAC design, documentation, manufacture, installation and project management; • Hydro Carbon refrigerants - survey the use and replacement of existing refrigerant to hydro carbon and the training of personnel in the use of hydro carbon refrigerants; • Lighting - today both induction and LED are able to replace all lighting found in buildings, offering a substantial energy and maintenance saving; • Building automation - the correct building automation for both lighting and HVAC controls to allow for both dimming for daylight and economy mode on HVAC for cooling - offering substantial savings; • Wind turbines - harnessing exhaust air to drive wind turbines has been used successfully without any loss of performance of existing fans to generate power for both grid connect and lighting; • Air to air heat recovery - by using air to air heat recovery, a higher percentage of fresh air can be introduced, thereby keeping the building under positive pressure, whilst maintaining healthy indoor air quality with higher fresh air changes per hour; • De super heaters - by harnessing waste heat from compressors for hot water pre heating. This both reduces the energy consumption on the HVAC system and reduces the need for heating water more than 2º C; • Condensate recovery - condensate from HVAC does not require filtration and can be used in cooling towers and flushing toilets, it can eliminate the need for stinky waterless urinals; • Energy auditing and certification - with the use of our alliance partners, we are able to offer energy auditing and certificate generation; • Filtration - with the correct use of filters, you will eliminate dirty blocked coils, reduced airflow and increase in head pressure.
